Layering watercolours and salt.

Currently I am loving playing with Daniel Smiths Moonglow, Quin Rose, Phthalo Blue (green shade), and Indanthrone Blue.

It’s like magic happening before your eyes, when they get to play around in the water.

I try not to mix and ‘paint’ too much, and instead drop or lay the pigment into wet areas.

Adding a little salt creates its own little star bursts and clouds. Adding a lot of salt does not create great variation in texture, it’s the small amount of grains, with enough space between them that allows the pigment and the water to play.
